Wags Wager Week 7: October 12th, 2018

Welcome to the Wags Wager weekly column!  Each week this football season, I will be picking out seven games that are going to make myself, and my followers a few bucks this football season.  These picks will be a mixture of College and NFL games.  All my spreads that I will use throughout the season will be found on MyBookie.ag

Colorado Buffalos (+7) at USC Trojans

I do not get the USC love.  They have barely beaten two below average teams in their past two games, got destroyed by Texas, and true freshman quarterback JT Daniels is still trying to get him feet underneath him.  The Buffalos continue to win football games and I like them to beat the Trojans outright this week.

Washington Huskies at Oregon Ducks (+3)

Justin Herbert’s performance against Stanford was soiled by a historic collapse at home in a narrow defeat at Autzen Stadium.  The Ducks were able to bounce back with a convincing win over Cal and look to take down a Washington team that has not looked impressive so far this season.  The more Auburn continues to struggle, the more we are all going to look at Washington and wonder if they are that great of a great football team.  I like the Ducks in this game.

Wisconsin Badgers (+9) at Michigan Wolverines

This is the ultimate Big Ten football game.  This has a 20-17 feel to it, no matter who ends up winning the game.  Nine points is way too many to pass up on.  I got Michigan in the game but think the Badgers cover the nine points.

Minnesota Golden Gophers at Ohio State Buckeyes (-30)

The Ohio State wagon will continue to roll.  The Buckeyes will go up big early in the game and give freshman quarterback Tate Martell all sorts of time to throw and run all over the Gophers defense.  Ohio State could easily put up a 50-burger on Minnesota.  Give me the Buckeyes all day.

Chicago Bears (-4) at Miami Dolphins

The Bears have had two weeks to prepare for this game, and the Dolphins are coming off a game where they gave up 27 unanswered points in the last twenty minutes to lose a must-win game on the road against the Bengals.  The Bears will be rested, prepared, and have Khalil Mack while the Dolphins are tired, stunned, and don’t have Khalil Mack.  Give me the Bears by at least a touchdown.

Carolina Panthers (PK) at Washington Redskins

The Redskins are coming off a short week where a high-powdered offense dismantled their bad defense.  Michael Thomas put Josh Norman on blast.  This week’s matchup against the Panthers is not much better.  Norv Turner has been a great addition in Carolina.  He has been able to utilize all the unique offensive weapons to optimize Cam Newton’s talent.  This is the best Newton has looked since the Panthers played in Super Bowl L and I believe their success continues Sunday.

Atlanta Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (OVER 57)

This one in a no brainer for me.  You have two of the top five passing teams in the NFL playing against two of the bottom five passing defenses in the league.  Jameis Winston and Matt Ryan are going to have a field day, and the first team to 35 points wins this game.  The Falcons will definitely win this game because this is where the Bucs shitshow gets back on the road to mediocracy, but there will be points scored in this game, lots of points.

Last Week: 3-3-1 ATS

Season: 20-20-1
